The mystery of Aperture

Have you ever wondered what the heck is aperture? When you talk to new photographers, most will agree that aperture is something they just don’t understand. Even fairly experienced amateurs are often confused by it. Some of the blame can clearly be laid upon the fact that the numbering system for it is not intuitive.

A further problem is that, unlike many other setting on your camera, aperture doesn’t just have primary effect on the photos you take. Often it is the one setting you will decide upon first, and then try and work your other settings around to get the shot you want. It is precicely because of this that I am taking on aperture as the very first subject. You will need to understand it completely to have full control over your photos, and the sooner you get started, the sooner you will see the beneficial results.
