There are those times when you have to discriminate between a few different people or options for the overall efficiency of things, but in the grand scheme of things it is typically better to be fair. The USPS has not been practicing this fairness in its mailing practices according to GameFly, which accuses them of not only giving unfair advantage to Netflix shipments by hand sorting them to avoid damage, but also because of this, Gamefly has to pay substantially more just to keep its damage rates below 10 percent. Knowing how flimsey the netflix mailers are, I always had wondered why so much of my mail came through looking mangled, but the Netflix discs were almost always pristine…now I know.
